Christmas Eve Dessert Bar

Love Red. Love Silver. Love Glitter.

My favorite dessert of the evening.
Fudge Dipped Oreos.
Straight out of the box.
With red icing swirled on top.

The Little Mermaid

here are the pics from little miss brooklyn's 3rd birthday.
she originally wanted a spiderman party,
but I could just not bring myself to do it.
so after some convincing,
she was super excited about her next favorite thing....

the little mermaid

number cookies.
well, it looked more like a cookie before the little monster got to it.
i think number cookies will now be a birthday tradition in our family :)
i just love traditions.

Surf's Up

In just a couple of weeks we will be moving back to AZ.
And, my kiddos will be sharing a room.
I have thought about how to decorate their room for months now.
I have been thinking. and thinking. and thinking.
Nothing I came up with seemed to fit my criteria...

Girly girl
and
Boy-y boy

I have searched hours on the internet.
Trying to find something I love.
Trying to find bedding that coordinated.

Then I had an idea.

Surfing.

Totally girl.

Totally boy.

Then I thought, Surfboards would be so cute hanging on the wall...

So I went to work....

Miss Brooklyn's

Mr. Crew's

Coordinating, of course!
Roxy = girly
Quicksilver = boy-y

And I'm getting this bedding from Pottery Barn Kids.
One in pink. One in blue.

Love it.

Every time Miss B looks are her surfboard she asks if we can go to the beach.

She knows what they are used for.

And I'm pretty sure they might actually work :)

1800 miles

The 1800 miles to and from Utah were totally worth it.
I captured this photo.
It will now be blown up to 20x30.
And hung above my sofa to replace a picture I took last summer.
I'm in love with it.
But more in love with the cute kiddos in it.

May 5th

Cinco de Mayo
A great reason to have a party.

I'm so sad I did not get pictures of everyone drinking their 'margaritas'
I'm trying to be better at taking pictures during parties and not just before :)

And no cinco de mayo would be complete without a Pinata.
I really wanted to get a Donkey one.
I went to the store excited to make my purchase.
15 dollars!
Serisouly???
I could not justify it.
So I decided to make one.
I have not made one since I was like ten, but I figured if I made one when I was ten, i
t could not be that hard.
I had a great idea to make it look like a sombrero.
It looked more like the planet Saturn when I was done.
So my sweet hubby took it upon himself to paint it for me.
It turned out cute.
And most importantly the kiddos loved it!

Yes, that is my daughter without pants on at our party.

Andrew hit it open!....after Collin pushed holes all over it to help the process.
Who knew flour and water could be so strong and durable :)

Mindy's baby shower

My brother, Nathan, is a blackhawk helicopter pilot for the Army.
He is currently in Iraq. And will be until just before Christmas.
His sweet wife is due with their first baby in June!!!
They have waited a very long time for this little bundle to join their family.
My mom and I really wanted to throw Mindy a shower.
And this week we did!
In honor of my brother.......
Operation Baby Shower

My dad was also a Blackhawk helicopter pilot. We used his helmet as a centerpiece.
